Well done to all
the children from room 27 who participated and thank you to their classmates who were
cheering them on.
Thursday 29 June 2017
In Week 6 on Friday we attended a Life Education Van Incursion. The students participated in a lesson on “Growing Good Friends” which covered a range of topics including developing friendships, including others, conducting themselves in a safe manner, healthy eating and positive life style choices. It was a highly interactive and engaging experience enjoyed by all. The students were also given a booklet of activities and a sticker!
Also in Week 6 the children presented their Super Scientist Presentations. The standard of these presentations was amazing! I was so impressed by the way the students prepared and delivered their presentations. Thank you to all parents and families who provided the children with support in the lead up. It was very difficult to choose our two Room 27 Super Scientist Finalists, but in the end it came down to those students who demonstrated excellent presentation skills and who were well rehearsed and organised. Congratulations to Daniel and Lucy, who represented our class at the year level assembly in Week 7,
Daniel "Bombs Away"
Lucy "Density"
Congratulations to Scarlet, Isabelle and Sarah who were the recipients of Merit Certificates at the last
Junior Assembly.

Gold n Bells Excursion
As you all know this Friday we will be going on our Gold n Bells
excursion. Please make sure your child has their water bottle and some recess
packed in a plastic bag clearly labelled with their name. We will be back at
school in time for lunch. The bus is leaving at 8.50am. Please have your
children at school by the bell as we must leave on time to stay on schedule.
Excursion Checklist:
- Recess food in a small
plastic bag
- Water bottle
- School Hat
Thank you for your support, we are all very excited and I'm sure we will
have a great learning experience.
Science
In Science this term the children are learning about Living and Non-Living
Things. We have been discussing the needs of plants and what they need to grow.
Each child has planted their own snow peas and is monitoring its growth. The
plants are put out in the sun each morning and watered every second day. The
students are also measuring their plants once a week and graphing their
results. As you can see from the picture below most plants are thriving.
Merit Certificates
Last Friday, we had our first junior assembly for the term and I am
proud to announce our Merit Certificate winners for this month were Harlem,
Sienna-Rose and William. Well done, you have all worked really hard.

Room 27 helped their younger buddies to make a sprinkle covered
chocolate egg.
Once finished the students all
enjoyed eating their treats!!
Assembly: The Water Cycle
I would like to congratulate all
Room 27 Students on a wonderful Junior Assembly Performance. They
were well rehearsed and looked fantastic in their costumes. It was great
to receive lots of positive feedback and hear that many people learnt a
thing or two about the water cycle! I would also like to acknowledge the
children who received Merit Awards & Special Certificates.
Thank you to all parents for your
support in the lead up and for attending the assembly. I am sure you are as
proud of the children as I am.
Student Councillors
As a class we voted for two students
to represent our class as our Students Councillors. It gives me great pleasure
to announce that Daniel and Ella-Grace were elected for Semester 1. I'm
sure they will do a great job representing our class.
